First week of work is finished

Hola or hello, everybody. So first week (the hardest one) is done. The kitchen of M. B. and people working here is so friendly, kind and hardworking. They can help each the time when you ask them about it, even if they are busy.

So some more details about restaurant. M.B is the signature restaurant of the renowned Basque chef Martín Berasategui. He holds nine stars in total, more than any other Spanish chef. His cooking is characterized not just by its creativity and inventiveness but also by a profound understanding of flavour and a deep respect for ingredients: qualities that can be found in abundance at M.B. That is why the type of cuisine of M. B. is creative cuisine. The restaurant headed by chef Erlantz Gorostiza was awarded in 2010 with a Michelin star. In 2014 retained this star and was awarded a second. The specifics of culinary technology in restaurant is rich use of vacuum machines and sous-vide cooking. Also there are two menus: the tasting menu and carta.

I am working in pastry section with sous chef Toto, another trainee Adriana and my chef Renzo who is teaching me to do better and better. Everything is very organized. Each working hours is well thought out to the smallest detail so the team do not lose time during preparation. We start from mise en place to be ready for dinner service. Then service take a lot of energy especially when we have a lot of people. Plus, our section is cutting bread and doing cocktails in the beginning of service. So it is my mission to take orders cocktails and do good slices of bread. But for now the biggest problem for me is spanish because it is everywhere. I already can follow recipes book but still it is not enough.

What about our days off? So it is going so good. I with my colleague Deni spend time constantly investigating Tenerife. We found the farm basil and bananas, the remains of the old castle and beautiful deserted beaches. So we have a lot of fun despite the fact that we are tired. But what I can say that life is short and it is better to live getting the greatest satisfaction.
